In celebration of Earth Day and its worldwide focus on the environment, Andersen Corporation employees near the company’s headquarters in Bayport, Minn. commemorated the day by planting trees for the occasion.

J Glasnapp, vice president of corporate sustainability and quality, was joined by special guest Cory Brinkema, president of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC sets high standards that ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable way.
Andersen is one of the only window and door manufacturers to have a wood procurement policy. In 1999, Andersen established a wood procurement policy that states a preference for wood certified to FSC standards.
