Andersen Corporation is excited to have participated in the This Old House Auburndale project which aired on PBS the last two months of 2010. The featured home is perched on the banks of the Charles River – a beautiful tributary linking Boston and Cambridge, MA.
Contractor Tom Silva and his crew were challenged with remodeling the home to reveal the beautiful view afforded by the home’s setting. They installed Andersen 400 Series casement windows and Frenchwood doors. The new windows and doors offer multiple benefits. While the energy efficiency saves the homeowner in energy costs, it is the expansive new view, bringing the river into the home that has won their hearts. Silva cut “new window and wall openings to reveal the spectacular views of the Charles River for the first time…” says This Old House.
When a window serves its purpose, the benefits are often not seen in the product itself but in the result of its surroundings. Bringing the outdoors in and providing views is precisely the role of a window. A durable window achieves this by simultaneously maintaining comfort indoors while providing long-lasting, energy efficiency.

Nice……..
My mom used to work for Andersen Windows as a young twentysomething upstart! This was great to read and made me proud of all of the successful companies and corporations that Minnesota gave birth to!
