Senator Al Franken talks with employees at Andersen Corporation April 25 including Jerry Bailey, right, who works in the company's recycled materials area.
Senator Al Franken (Dem. MN) visited Andersen Corporation’s Bayport facility April 25. During the visit, he talked with leaders about what goes in to making energy efficient windows and many of the sustainable practices we use in our manufacturing processes.
The Senator currently serves on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and has a keen interest in promoting energy policies that create well-paying jobs, drive innovation and reduce the country’s energy dependence. The senator toured the Andersen Windows plant and talked to employees about the energy efficient windows and doors Andersen makes.
Included on the tour was a visit to Andersen’s state-of-the-art energy plant, which burns sawdust from the company’s manufacturing process as its primary fuel source. “I’m honored to represent all these great Minnesota companies and this is one of the best.” said Franken. Thanks, Senator Franken. It was great to have you.
