Hard hats, dirty work boots and lots of orange caution tape donned beautiful black tie attire at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s (TCHFH) annual Hard Hat & Black Tie gala, May 7. The event honored the non-profit’s 25th anniversary of strengthening relationships and building homes for those in need.
Generosity filled the room as over 850 guests raised more than $500,000 in support of Habitat’s mission – providing affordable housing to hard-working families, in healthy neighborhoods. Since 1985 over 800 families have purchased homes from TCHFH.
Habitat’s strategically structured financing combined with required sweat equity, helps ensure long term ownership and urban revitalization. In addition to establishing sustained homeownership, TCHFH realizes the benefits of green building and energy efficiency go beyond the environment. Sustainable building practices offer substantial savings on monthly utilities, aiding Habitat’s low foreclosure rate.
